My good friend Jono Ruf was the motivation behind trying night disc golf. I had heard of it before, but never tried it. We used to buy little 1.5 inch glow sticks, but they proved to be ineffective, clunky, wasteful, and not as inexpensive as we would have liked. What a pain to tape them to our discs each time.I recently came across two great products specifically designed for playing night disc golf. They are now for sale at Bob's Clark Station
next to Pizza Ranch. I love these because they only cost $8.00 (tax
included) and last a long time, they are so bright you will never lose
your disc no matter what foliage your disc lands in, and they are
designed to not effect the flight of your disc too much. When the
batteries run out, simply replace them as they are a very common watch battery. You have to give it a try!!!
I've found the factory batteries don't last as long as they say. I would guess they last about 12-15 hours. I use Energizer replacement batteries and get closer to 50 hours with those. What's the Best Type of Disc to Use?
How do I Attach an AeroPOD? See the quick video to the right. I show you exactly how to put one on the correct way. How do I Replace the Battery? See demo video to the right. It's tricky. Use a flathead screwdriver to ease the top battery out a little. Use a needle nose pliers to fully remove the top battery (careful not to break a light). Take bottom battery out the same way. Push in new 2032 battery. (Go to minute 3:40 in the video for Disc Golf)
