When: Saturday of Nordic Fest, July 30. Two tournaments are being held that are perfect for beginners and experienced, young and old. The singles day tournament is starting at 3:00
PM, with players encouraged to arrive between 2:30 and 2:45. The best-shot doubles night tournament is starting at 9:00 PM, with players encouraged to arrive around 8:30 PM.
Location: Meet at the first hole of Luther College's disc golf course. 700 College Drive, on the lower campus behind the Towers (Miller and Dieseth Halls) and near Lindeman Pond. See map (basket is meeting location for the event).
Registration: Entry fee for the singles tournament is $10.00 per person. Registration for the best-shot doubles tournament is $15.00 per team. Nordic Fest logo stamped discs available to purchase (see last year's disc above). Online registration (see below) will be taken through Friday, July 29. Paper/check registration will be available until 2:30 PM on Saturday, July 30 at the Decorah Chamber of Commerce and the event registration table before play begins.
Equipment: One disc is all you need! If you are playing in the best-shot double tournament you will also need a light for your disc too. You can also find discs and lights from Disc Dan either online or at Bob's Standard Clark Station.
Singles Tournament: Limit of 36 players. Format will be two nine-hole rounds of single play in groups up to four with a shotgun start. After the first nine holes, second round grouping will be based off of first round scores. Lowest combined two-round score wins. There will be four divisions to choose from:
- Men's Advance
- Men's Intermediate
- Women
- Youth 17 and under
Best-shot Doubles Night Tournament: Limit of 36 players. Format will be two nine-hole rounds of best-shot doubles play in groups up to four with a shotgun start. After the first nine holes, second round grouping will be based off of first round scores. Lowest combined two-round score wins.
